Due to an active western disturbance, conditions could lead to occasional thunderstorms, making it essential for residents to stay updated on weather conditions. In their forecast, the IMD stated: > “Generally cloudy sky. Possibility of very light rain/drizzle accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning during forenoon to afternoon.”
Wind conditions will also play a role in today’s weather. Initially, a gentle breeze from the northwest at 5 kmph is expected, which will pick up to 15 kmph by the afternoon. However, as evening approaches, the winds are predicted to taper off to below 10 kmph.
The IMD has projected that the maximum temperature in Delhi today will hover around 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to settle at 17 degrees Celsius. This temperature range indicates a day that is close to seasonal norms, with variations of only 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Air quality, as reported by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), was measured at a moderate level with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 153 by 4 PM on Sunday. The CPCB classifies AQI readings as follows: - 0-50: Good - 51-100: Satisfactory - 101-200: Moderate - 201-300: Poor - 301-400: Very Poor - 401-500: Severe
In East and Central India, the IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha today. Moreover, isolated heavy showers are predicted for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on March 24, with ongoing scattered thunderstorms and gusty winds expected until March 26.
