> "Yesterday was a pretty amazing day," Orrison remarked, highlighting the impressive nature of this heatwave.
The current heatwave across the western half of the continental U.S. is characterized by temperatures 20°F to 40°F above normal averages. While the most intense heat is projected to ease starting Monday, above-average temperatures are anticipated to persist into the following week.
> "It is so off the charts right now in terms of magnitude," Orrison noted.
