Ram Charan credits Salman and Aamir Khan for inspiring 'Peddi', a film about identity and struggle, set to release on June 4. Find out more!
GlipzoRam Charan, the acclaimed Indian actor, is preparing for the much-anticipated release of his latest film, Peddi, set to hit theaters on June 4. At a spectacular trailer launch held in Mumbai, Charan took a moment to express his gratitude towards legendary actors Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, acknowledging their pivotal roles in popularizing sports dramas in Indian cinema, particularly through their blockbuster films, Sultan and Dangal.
In his heartfelt address, Ram Charan stated, "There was a huge spiritual journey behind this film. Physically too, it was very challenging. Thanks to Salman Khan and Aamir Khan for paving the path for us with movies like Sultan and Dangal. Those films gave us so much confidence, so thanks to both of them for starting this journey. We believed this genre had worked in the past, and we followed the same route. The transformation was inevitable. It had to be done because it is part of the story."
During the trailer event, Ram Charan also praised Buchi Babu Sana, the film's writer and director, for his passionate storytelling approach. He reminisced about the day Sana presented the script to him, laying it out across the carpet and reading it scene by scene for nearly two hours and forty minutes. This meticulous narration ignited a deep desire in Charan to embark on this journey, despite the physical toll it would demand. He remarked, "I knew physically it was going to be exhausting, but it was all worth it for this man and the subject he has written."
The film Peddi is not just a sports drama; it is described by Charan as a deeply emotional narrative that resonates with the search for identity. He elaborated, "This is about a man’s search for identity. All of us need some kind of identity to go through life. This story is about Peddi, who is going through an identity crisis and eventually finds himself fighting for a much larger cause. He is a crossover athlete. His pain, his journey, and his struggle have been beautifully etched in a film that feels both organic and commercial at the same time."
Charan is confident that Peddi will appeal to audiences of all ages. He mentioned, "People of all ages will enjoy it. It is the most inspiring story I have done in my life." His father, the legendary actor Chiranjeevi, also gave his stamp of approval after watching parts of the film, suggesting that such significant roles don't come often. Charan quoted his father, saying, "For an actor to get a film like this, it takes a decade. Every year you cannot get a Magadheera or an RRR. Relish every moment of this because you may not get a film like this again. Good films do not come easily, and this is one of those films that I want to preserve in my library forever."
In addition to Ram Charan, Peddi features a talented ensemble cast, including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Ravi Kishan, and Divyendu in prominent roles. The film’s unique premise and emotional depth are expected to draw significant interest, further fueled by the star power of its cast.
As the film's release date approaches, the buzz surrounding Peddi continues to grow. The film's narrative not only promises to entertain but also to inspire audiences by highlighting the struggles and triumphs of individuals in the face of adversity. The anticipation is palpable, with fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to witness this heartfelt story unfold on the big screen.
Looking ahead, Ram Charan’s career seems poised for further evolution as he continues to select projects that resonate with audiences. Peddi could serve as a defining moment in his career, showcasing his versatility and commitment to meaningful storytelling. As he embarks on this new chapter, fans and critics alike will be keeping a close eye on his journey, eager to see how this film impacts the landscape of Indian cinema.
In conclusion, Ram Charan’s Peddi not only highlights the importance of identity but also stands as a testament to the influence of pioneers like Salman Khan and Aamir Khan in shaping the genre of sports dramas. With its strong narrative and heartfelt performances, Peddi is set to leave a lasting impression as it arrives in theaters.
