Discover if the Norda 001A G+ trail shoe is worth its $325 price tag with our in-depth review of its features, performance, and technology.
GlipzoThe original Norda 001 garnered a cult following for its cushioning and distinctive style, paving the way for the 001A series. This latest model comes in several variations: the standard 001A, the weatherproof 001A G+, and the more rugged 001A G+ Spike at $355, designed for harsher conditions.
In my testing, I logged 50 miles in the 001A G+, assessing its performance across various terrains. The midsole delivered a balanced ride, thanks to an eTPU insole that provided a combination of softness and responsiveness. While it didn’t offer the springy energy characteristic of some competitors, it felt well-grounded and connected to the trail.
Additionally, the G+ model features a breathable, graphene-infused waterproof membrane that ensures warmth and provides up to 10,000 mm of water resistance. Remarkably, this waterproofing does not add significant weight, keeping the shoe light and agile.
In conclusion, while the Norda 001A G+ may not be for everyone, it definitely caters to a niche market willing to invest in premium performance. As more runners explore the boundaries of trail running, it will be interesting to see how this trend develops and whether more brands follow suit with innovative, high-cost solutions.
