Madhuri Dixit calls for an Anil Kapoor collaboration at the trailer launch of Netflix's 'Maa Behen'. Discover her hilarious anecdotes and insights!
GlipzoThe excitement was palpable at the trailer launch of the highly anticipated film Maa Behen, held on June 4, 2023, in Mumbai. The event brought together an impressive lineup of cast and crew, including Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Ravi Kishan, Dharna Durga, and director Suresh Triveni. As the crowd buzzed with energy, Madhuri and her co-stars kicked off the festivities with a lively game that blended Snakes and Ladders with Truth or Dare. The unique atmosphere was complemented by the appearance of several women journalists, who donned beautiful sarees gifted by Netflix and had the chance to groove alongside Madhuri to the classic track ‘Dhak Dhak’.
At the forefront of the event was producer Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, who reminisced about the film's inception. "More than 1 ½ years ago, Suresh narrated this brilliant concept to us. We were captivated by the way they blended music and performance with storytelling. It was as if Adarsh Colony had moved into our office! What struck us was how they deftly challenged patriarchal notions. Seeing the final cut, we realized that Maa Behen is unlike anything else in today’s entertainment landscape. It’s a unique genre that defies conventional classification as simply comedy or social commentary."
Madhuri, forever the graceful presence, delighted the audience with her charm and humor. When asked if there was anyone she would want to give the Maa Behen treatment, she playfully dismissed the notion, saying, "There’s no one in the world for whom I’ll think of something like that. But sometimes you meet certain individuals, and for a fleeting moment, you consider it, only to quickly think, ‘Nahin nahin, jaane do’ (laughs)."
She also recounted a humorous memory from her first meeting with Suresh. "When I first heard the title Maa Behen, I thought he was joking! I looked at him, laughed, and then he just kept staring at me. I eventually asked, ‘Is this really the title of the film?’. When he nodded, I learned the story and realized how perfectly fitting that title was (smiles)."
The highlight of the event came when a journalist posed the question many fans have been waiting to hear: would Suresh Triveni consider uniting the legendary duo of Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit on screen? His eyes lit up as he answered, "It’s been a dream of mine! Just this year, I had the chance to work with both Anil sir and Madhuri ma’am separately. I would absolutely love to bring them together. What do you think?"
The audience responded with a resounding ‘Yes!’, and Suresh continued, "The verdict is clear. Pooja and I have discussed the possibility of creating a comedy with them, as they have such great chemistry together."
Madhuri interjected with enthusiasm, "Suresh ji, aapke liye ek naya kaam aa gaya hai. You have to bring us together!"
As the anticipation builds for the release of Maa Behen on Netflix, audiences can expect a fresh take on storytelling that brings laughter while addressing critical themes. The film's unique approach to societal issues, paired with a talented cast, promises a captivating viewing experience.
In summary, as Maa Behen gears up for its debut, it stands out not only as a film but as a cultural statement, reflecting the evolving landscape of Indian cinema. With its innovative approach and star-studded cast, this film is one to watch in the coming weeks and beyond.
